Objective: The general objective of the program of support to the SPAT II is:
“Agricultural outputs and incomes increased under sustainable production sys-tems and
for all groups of farmers, and food security ensured for all the popula-tion”
The specific objectives are:
“Improved access to advisory services for crops and livestock”
“Improved access and use of high quality planting materials of food crops for men and women”
Coverage: Nationwide (all 30 districts)
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
Support RAB to implement “The Rwanda Seed Initiative”
Seed policies – Seed production – Genebank – Rwanda Seed Enterprise –
Private sector development – Quality control
Support RAB to implement “The Rwanda Farmer Field School Initiative”
Nationwide FFS for all major crops and livestock - Contract private agricultural services pro-viders - improved demand articulation
Support to CICA
National extension resource center – Centre of excellence for extension material development Mass coverage through radio messages

Seed task force established – Seed Plan elaborated
More than 400 hectares pre-basic and basic seed production
More then 40,000 farmers in farmer field school
More than 700 facilitators trained
