Over 60,000 visitors joined the 18th Rwanda Agriculture Show
On Friday 27th June, 2025, at Mulindi Showground in Kigali City’s Gasabo District, the 18th Rwanda Agriculture Show closed with remarkable success, having attracted more than 60,000 visitors in total during the entire period it was held from 18/06/2025 to 27/06/2025.
This year’s Agri show had a record number of exhibitors at over 530 while the previous one had 425 exhibitors, and those of previous years had around 300 exhibitors.
The exhibition was also visited by 61,781 visitors by its ninth day, while other national agricultural shows generally attracted on average 40,000 visitors.
In his remarks while officiating the exhibition’s closure, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI), Eric Rwigamba, highlighted Rwanda Agriculture Show’s value as a platform that brings together solutions to the key challenges in the agriculture sector, accelerates technology adoption, and fosters collaboration among stakeholders.
Under the theme of “Leveraging Innovation and Investment for Building Resilient and Sustainable Agri-Food Systems,” this year’s show provided a dynamic platform for displaying innovative agricultural and livestock solutions that are vital to the sector's growth.
As part of the closing ceremony, MINAGRI recognized and awarded exhibitors for their exceptional contributions in various categories. The winners were celebrated for their innovative approaches to improving agricultural production, processing, and research.
Best Exhibitor in Primary Production (Crops): INGABO SYNDICATE for their innovative Narocass-1 cassava production using Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), with production reaching 50 kg per cutting.
Best Exhibitor in Primary Production (Animal Resources): Kigali Rabbit Farm, for introducing Artificial Insemination (AI) in rabbits, developing good rabbit breeds, and providing training for new farmers.
Best Exhibitor in Agro-Processing (Crops): Veget Solutions Ltd for their production of plantain flour and vegetable flour.
Best Exhibitor in Agro-Processing (Animal Resources): Ingabo Dairy Ltd (Gishwati), for their production of cheese, fermented milk, and yogurt.
Best Exhibitor in Irrigation and Mechanization: GIT Ltd, for their locally made post-harvest machinery, including multi-crop choppers, maizeshellers, and cassava slicers.
Best Exhibitor in Research (Crops): University of Rwanda/College of Agriculture and Food Science, for their innovative automatic irrigation technology and mobile cold room systems.
Best Exhibitor in Research (Animal Resources): Rwanda Polytechnics, for their development of an automated chicks brooding system and eggs incubator.
Best Exhibitor in Inputs Supply (Crops): SOZO Company Ltd, for their provision of agricultural inputs, including new seed varieties and pesticides, alongside their demonstration plots for farmers.
Best Exhibitor in Inputs Supply (Animal Resources): RABSCO Ltd, for their provision of livestock inputs, such as AI equipment, heat detectors, and veterinary drugs.
Youth Category Awards
A special Youth Award was also presented to encourage the participation of young entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector. The winners received financial support to expand their businesses:
The best exhibitor (awarded RWF 2 Million): IGISUBIZO 1 COMPANY LTD, for processing cassava peels into fertilizer and producing various types of soap.
The 1st runner up (awarded RWF 1.25 Million): TTT PROCESSING COMPANY, for their production of porridge flour enriched with eggs and their wine production.
The 2nd runner up (awarded RWF 1 Million): ZEAN LTD, for processing maize into flour and cassava leaves into isombe.
The Rwanda Agriculture Show was first officially launched in July 2003 by President Paul Kagame. It continues to be one of the country’s most significant platforms for promoting agricultural innovation and investment. This year’s 18th edition marked a pivotal moment in the show’s history, with record breaking participation and a strong focus on sustainable agriculture, technological advancements, and economic growth.
This annual event organized by MINAGRI fosters the development of a resilient and sustainable agri-food system and will continue to serve as a cornerstone for Rwanda’s agricultural transformation.
