THE DIGITALIZATION DIVISION – MINAGRI

The Digitalization Division (DD) at the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI) is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the use of information technologies (IT) to improve service delivery and strengthen digitalization. The DD also creates an innovation-friendly environment by strengthening policies, strategies, and infrastructure for digitalization.

DD's Responsibilities

  • Planning and implementing the use of IT to improve service delivery and strengthen digitalization.
  • Creating an innovation-friendly environment by strengthening policies, strategies, and infrastructure for digitalization.
  • Collaborating with sector actors to test, develop, adopt, and scale digital innovations for agriculture transformation.
    • Estimate agro-processors’ raw materials need based on existing utilization capacities on specific value chains;
    • Develop short & long-term interventions to address identified crops & animal value chain bottlenecks;
    • Collaborate with RCA in cooperative development and capacity building of cooperatives and farmer organizations in crop value chains;
    • Collect data on supply and demand factors including production and aggregation volumes, price trends and consumptions, imports and exports.
