AGRONOMISTS AND VETERINARIANS URGED TO FAST-TRACK RWANDA’S AGRICULTURE TRANSFORMATION
Staff members from the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources, affiliated agencies, agronomists and veterinarians from across the country have been called upon to take the lead in expediting the transformation of the agriculture sector in Rwanda.
The call was made on November 21, 2019 while officially opening a civic education (itorero) for all staff of the ministry, its agencies, agronomists and veterinarians from all districts across the country. The refresher civic education, running from November 21, 2019 to December 08, 2019 in two phases, is taking place at Nkumba Training Centre in Burera District.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources, Jean Claude Musabyimana, said that this civic education will enable people who work across the agriculture sector to expedite Rwanda’s agriculture transformation from primary production to market.
“This civic education will focus on our professional values, self-evaluation to reinvigorate our modus operandi, take actions to operationalize our country’s vision, and improve our service delivery,” the PS told the participants named “Ingamburuzabukene”.
The civic education programme was organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources in partnership with the National Itorero Commission. This programme is targeting around 1000 participants
