On August 22nd, 2023, the President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul KAGAME appointed Eric Rwigamba as the new Minister of State for Agriculture and Animal Resources in the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources. 

On his twitter account, Eric Rwigamba pledged his full commitment in his new responsibilities.

"Thank you Your Excellency @PaulKagame for the privilege of continuing to serve our Country under your leadership. I pledge my full commitment and abilities in the new role." 

Prior to his appointment, he served as the Minister of Public Investments and Privatization of the Republic of Rwanda. He also served as the Director General of the Financial Sector Development Directorate in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning of Rwanda.

Eric Rwigamba holds a Master’s Degree from Oklahoma Christian University – USA in Business Administration (MBA Finance), and a Bachelor of Commerce/Finance from Makerere University – Uganda.

He served on several boards like Development Bank of Rwanda (BRD), Rwanda’s Capital Market Authority (CMA), Africa Export-Import Bank, East Africa Development Bank, and Access to Finance Rwanda.
