The new EU Ambassador to Rwanda, H.E Nicola Bellomo, on March 22, 2018, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources, Dr Gerardine Mukeshimana, to introduce himself and discuss on strengthening existing partnership in agriculture development in the country.
During the meeting, which also saw a brief discussion on existing partnership meant to support in boosting Rwanda’s agriculture sector, Ambassador Bellomo commended the good relationship between the EU and Rwanda.
On her part, Minister Mukeshimana also praised the EU for its great role it has been playing in transforming the agriculture sector in Rwanda; noting that “the EU is a very important partner to the ministry.”
EU has been supporting Rwanda’s efforts towards transforming the agriculture sector over the third phase of the Strategic Plan for the Agricultural Transformation (PSTA3) that is phasing out. The EU has also played a key role in shaping the PSTA4 that will be implemented from July this up to 2024.
